The Biomedical Engineering Students’ Association (BESA) exists to represent, support, and advocate for graduate students in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto.
Our mission is to enhance the graduate student experience by fostering a strong academic community, promoting professional and personal development, and ensuring that student voices are meaningfully represented in departmental and university decision-making.
BESA works to bridge communication between students, faculty, and administration while creating inclusive opportunities for engagement, leadership, and collaboration.

We envision a graduate community where Biomedical Engineering students feel supported, informed, and empowered throughout their academic journey.
